Flutter kick without breathing

The child holds a kickboard, pushes off from the pool wall and immediately places their face in the water, swimming as far as possible without taking a breath. Alternatively, set targets like 10 meters with only two breaths. Unlike backstroke, prone swimming limits access to air — this trains swimming longer distances without breathing and is valuable for all future lessons.
