Sinking on the Back

The child lies on the water on its back in the starfish position and starts to blow air out of its nose. At a certain point so much air has been exhaled that the body is no longer heavier than water and the child sinks backward to the bottom. Now, during this sinking phase, it is important to keep exhaling steadily through the nose so that no water enters the nostrils. The chin is laid back throughout the whole exercise and the gaze goes upward. But be careful. This exercise is very difficult and also a little risky, especially in deep water. We therefore advise doing the exercise only in the children's pool. At the point where you begin to sink, you have already exhaled almost all your air and then descend with very little air reserve, which you also keep exhaling. So please only carry out this exercise under strict supervision. This exercise practises steady exhalation on the back.
