Swimming with crossed arms

The child should try to swim fifteen meters with their arms crossed. All propulsion comes from the legs. To make the exercise even more challenging, you can instruct your child never to switch to a back-floating position. This exercise is primarily designed as a safety drill. Situations can arise, such as a cramp, where not all limbs are available. Despite this, one must still be able to reach the pool's edge or, in open water, swim a longer distance under such a handicap. This exercise teaches much more than safety. Children must adapt to this new situation, adjust their body position in the water, and find a way to move forward. Through this, they gain a better understanding of water, which benefits all future exercises.
