15 Meters with Arms Crossed

The child swims fifteen meters with their arms crossed, all power coming from the legs; to increase difficulty, forbid swimming on the back. This is mainly a safety drill: with limited use of the limbs — for example due to a cramp — the child must still be able to rescue themselves to the pool edge. The exercise also builds water understanding as the child adjusts their position and finds new ways to move forward.
