Roll in the Water

You do this exercise in water that is at least chest-deep. Your child gathers momentum with the upper body, jumps forward with a rounded back and rolls up in the water. The arms may help along. Once the forward roll works, it can do two rolls in a row - or later also try a backward roll. The momentum and the tucked body position are important. This exercise prepares well for the head-first dive - it is easier and requires less courage than the actual core exercise.
