Single-arm Backstroke
The child pushes off from the edge and swims single-arm backstroke. The aim is to rotate the shoulder as strongly as possible with each pull. A trick that can help with this is so-called apple picking. As soon as the arm is at its highest point and pointing toward the ceiling, you imagine that there is an apple above the hand. The shoulders are then pulled up to reach for the apple with the hand. Alternatively, the shoulder of the passive arm can rotate strongly along each time, whereby the passive arm can be slightly raised and then lowered again.
