Side-lying Kick

Your child lies on its side in the water - as parallel to the pool wall as possible. One arm is stretched forward, the other rests at the side of the body. The head rests on the stretched arm, the mouth and nose stay above water. This exercise helps your child to learn the correct body position for freestyle breathing. Make sure that the stretched hand stays at the surface of the water - many children unconsciously lower it.
